‘….when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.’ Hebrews 10:36
Bible proclaims the promises of God and we hold it to our heart. Believing this we pray and expect God’s promise. But, if our prayer is not fulfilled, we may wonder, feel disillusioned, or even stop trusting.
Promises in the Bible are God’s promises. And God’s words are rock solid. That is why God says, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away”. (Matthew 24:35)
And God’s ways are incomprehensible to human intelligence. God is committed to His Word, not to our interpretation of it. When Jesus said, ‘…Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up’ (John 2:19), His audience completely misunderstood Him, thinking He meant the literal temple, whereas Jesus meant His body.
Then how do we avoid the disappointment of unfulfilled promises that we expect from God? The best way is submit our thoughts to God and pray for His guidance. God is able to see our tomorrows and knows what’s good for us. We are not even able to see our next second. Standing within our limitations we make the calculations and assume that is the best for us. And when things don’t turn as we plan, we tend to blame something or somebody, even God. It is hard to think that our plan didn’t work because that is not good for our betterment.
Trusting somebody, even God is very challenging!
But trust in God and you’ll get peace of mind!!!by
