The world is celebrating the 100th birthday of Mother Teresa. The simple, yet wonderful, nun who had seen God in every human being cherished her life to see smile on every disadvantaged and hopeless face. Her outlook on life is simple but inspiring:
“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is bliss, taste it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfil it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it.”
Mother Teresa’s life and work compels me to pause and look at my own insight of life. Have I identified my gift? Am I utilising my gift for the betterment of others?
The above questions are still unanswered.
I know it’s a utopian thinking, yet I wish ‘How beautiful and peaceful the world would have been, had people seen life an opportunity’.
Thank God for giving us Mother Teresa!
