"Heaven has gained another Star!"– Mother Teresa

The world is celebrating the 100th birthday of Mother Teresa. The simple, yet wonderful, nun  who had seen God in every human being cherished her life to see smile on every disadvantaged and hopeless face. Her outlook on life is simple but inspiring:

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is bliss, taste it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfil it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it.”

Mother Teresa’s life and work compels me to pause and look at my own insight of life. Have I identified my gift? Am I utilising my gift for the betterment of others?

The above questions are still unanswered.

I know it’s a utopian thinking, yet I wish ‘How beautiful and peaceful the world would have been, had people seen life an opportunity’.

Thank God for giving us Mother Teresa!

My Reading today

I’m now reading a book about prayer. Why do we pray? Whom do we pray? How do we pray? These are basic fundamental questions about prayer. And how many of us really think about this. Most of the time we pray mechanically. ‘Why do we pray’ points light to ourselves. Is it for us or God? Prayer is the gift of God, we re-wrap the gift and give back to Him. If any one re-wraps our gift and gives back to us, we take it as an insult but God doesn’t because He expects us to use His gift. Prayer lets us to remind that our life is God’s gift and we have a moral sense of duty to use our gift to enrich others’ life. Those who understand this truth and walk along this path will have eternal life through others.
